A delegation from Cambodian Living Arts, which fosters Khmer art and culture, is visiting the US, seeking more support for its work.

Founder Arn Chorn-Pond tells VOA Khmer in a TV interview the organization continues to provide a space for children to learn from the few remaining survivors of Khmer art forms, like classical music and dance.

The group has helped thousands of children so far, he says.

“We are achieving, performing and allowing children to learn from the few teachers remaining from the Khmer Rouge era, to perform for celebrities, international guests, and our young generation, too,” he says.

He is now looking for more support in the US to fund more projects. He has also written a new book, “Never Fall Down.”

He is giving 40 students scholarships to study at Cambodia Living Arts.

Arn Chorn-Pond fled Cambodia in the 1970s and came to live in Providence, Rhode Island. He returned to Cambodia, where he started his organization, after meeting a teacher of traditional drama.

Stay tuned to the upcoming TV interview with Arn Chorn-Pond.
